synopsis : : This store for two sister female fashion brands is located inside of a department store in Tokyo's busy Shinjuku district. The design tried to avoid big gestures and bold displays. Instead the whole space was conceived around the idea of small alcoves or open closets so that this would bring a sense of intimacy, like being inside of a woman's boudoir. All vertical surfaces were finished in delicate sand plaster, floors and counter tops in soft lime stonea, washed by the soft touch of liniar indirect lighting.
